For its own annual production in 2025, the Ensemble La Sestina
will dedicate a full program to the composer Pierre Certon.
Pierre Certon (c. 1510/1515 – 1572), along with Clément Janequin and Claudin de Sermisy, is one of the leading figures of the first generation of composers active in the new French polyphonic song of the 16th century. In 1570, he published an impressive collection of Meslanges , a significant milestone in the history of French song. The collection includes light, melancholic, and erotic pieces, as well as a drinking song!
Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear the works of this unjustly overlooked composer, which Ensemble La Sestina will bring back to life with sincerity and passion.

Introductory lecture by Grégory Rauber, musicologist, 45 minutes before the start of each concert.
