Adriano Giardina

Adriano Giardina was born in 1970. After studying Literature (musicology), he studied harpsichord at the Conservatory of Neuchâtel and took theoretical courses at the Centre de Musique Ancienne in Geneva.

He studied orchestral conducting with Eric Bauer in Geneva and founded and directed for five years the Ensemble Pange Lingua, an early music choir at the University of Neuchâtel.

In 2007, Adriano Giardina received a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation to conduct research in Rome on the Spanish composer Tomás Luis de Victoria. Two years later, he defended a doctoral thesis on this musician at the University of Geneva.

Adriano Giardina is currently a lecturer and researcher in musicology at the University of Fribourg. He also directs the Chœur du Pavillon, composed of musicology students from Fribourg.
