The Legend of Josquin Desprez

Musical tributes to Josquin Desprez. The program brings together well-known and lesser-known composers of the past (Lassus , Willaert, Palestrina, Castileti and Appenzeller), as well as a contemporary Swiss composer, Victor Cordero.

Seven

A program of 16th-century polyphonic works for seven voices or in which the number seven plays an important role. Works by Jacob Obrecht, Josquin Desprez, Nicolas Gombert, Roland de Lassus, Thomas Morley, etc.

Thomas Crecquillon - Composer in the service of Charles V

Anthology of works by a composer who was very famous in his time, but is too rarely performed today. The program offers a representative selection of his work and combines his Missa Domine da nobis auxilium , serving as a common thread, with about ten French court songs and four motets.

Roland de Lassus - Between You Girls

This program presents the most important facets of this composer, who explored all genres and polyphonic styles of his time. The program includes the Missa Entre vous filles , five motets and liturgical pieces, and eight French songs.

Francisco Guerrero - The Angel's Voice

Repertoire for high voices by the Sevillian composer. The program combines Latin sacred works ( Missa L'homme armé and four motets) and more "light" pieces in Spanish ( cancione sy villanescas espirituales ) with colourful sonorities close to the Italian madrigal.

"My heart commends itself to you" - Songs based on poems by Clément Marot

A journey through the impressive variety of musical settings of this subtle and witty poet. Accompanied by a lutenist, the Ensemble sings works by a large number of Parisian and Franco-Flemish composers.

Sigismondo of India - Fourth Book of Madrigals

This little-known book of madrigals, unlike its author's monodies, is one of the most beautiful and original from the last and most expressive period in the history of the genre. Here, the musician rivals Monteverdi and Gesualdo in a daring quest for sweet dissonances.

Monteverdi - Fourth Book of Madrigals

The complete works of this musical genius, who stands at the crossroads between the Renaissance and Baroque periods. This book, the last not to include a basso continuo, represents in a way an early culmination of the composer's work.

Adriano Banchieri / Luciano Berio - Festino / A-Ronne

A light and entertaining program featuring avant-garde works by two Italian composers who love to play with texts. Onomatopoeia, carnival scenes, theatricality, wordplay, and musical idioms are all present.
